Types Of Service Providers

In the IT world the service providers are categorized into 3 types namely:
- Type I or the Internal Service Provider: They operate generally within the internal market space which is generally the Internal Business Unit (IBU). It generally depends on the business. When one unit starts to achieve more profit, it leads to the creation of sub units.
- Type II or the Shared Service Unit: They generally provide non-core services namely Finance, IT and various others to the business units.
- Type III or the External Service Unit: They are similar to the shared unit, though they generally provide services to the external units.
