Clinton County Convention and Visitors Bureau
The Clinton County Convention and Visitors Bureau had branding, a website and blog, and beginnings of Facebook and Twitter profiles. They needed to grow their audience to attract visitors to the county’s many attractions. At a time of economic crisis in the region, their specific directive was to improve economic impact from agritourism, sports tourism, signature festivals, convention center events, and to increase revenues to attractions and county hotels. In addition to traditional media campaigns, the CVB Board prioritized a strong social media presence and evolving social media marketing strategy.
Our Solution
Initially we worked on Facebook and Twitter follower growth, social content creation and consistent online brand identity. Over time also developed their Pinterest, Instagram, YouTube, and blog content and video creation as well as blog influencer outreach.
How It Performed
Very quickly, we grew their audience from a few hundred to thousands on Facebook and Twitter, and developed a loyal group of fans and collaborating social brands interested in Clinton County, Ohio events and attractions. Eventual development of the additional social profiles went much the same way.
Fulfilling goals, Clinton County attracted new sports tournaments, new conventions and annual business meetings, car racing events, improved shows at the theater, and increased attendance at county festivals and hotel stays. This resulted in millions of dollars of economic impact. Our work earned the Clinton County CVB two back-to-back social media awards. They became the example of Ohio CVBs online for a number of years. Additionally, the CVB was listed as one of the Top 10 Small Cities on Social Media, putting them in the same class as very well-known destinations such as Sedona, Arizona, Ashville, North Carolina and Traverse City, Michigan, part of the Pure Michigan campaign.
