Hello Roz,

Thank you for being my loyal fan on Facebook, and for keeping our conversation so much fun!  It has been a pleasure getting to know you, and I hope to continue on this path.

I had promised you a Facebook Audit.  It was also my intention not to keep you waiting so long.  In effort to make it up to you, I will include a few helpful links at the end of the audit section.

The words within the audit are meant to be objective ideas to grow on.  Broken down into categories:

ONLINE PRESENCE:

You've done good by owning your website, owning your embassy.  Social networks - your outposts, are also clearly posted.  So, your online visitors can choose how they will connect (take the Twitter icon down if you are not there).  My only concern is that I am not 100% sure I've reached your business when I get there.  What is your brand?  So, if I am hopping between Facebook & and your website, there is uncertainty that I'm in the right place.

BRANDING:

Your branding is not clear.  The first time visitor is not sure exactly what you do by looking at your avatar.  When we only have a few minutes to capture attention, you may not be connecting with all of your opportunities.  You can be your business, and still be part of the branding.  But there is not consistency from online embassy to outpost.  Due to how the social networks operate, using the word name of your business does not afford you consistency in how it is presented.  On Facebook, your avatar follows you around; that is what people see of your brand.  How can you make this your signature touch point, and it be consistent from embassy to outpost?

FACEBOOK PRESENCE:

You're doing a great job at circulating yourself.  You could even step up interacting as your brand just a bit.  I usually find the opposite, so this is terrific!  Balance this 80% you, 20% your brand.  Be careful not to hover at competitor pages.  You want to build positive relationships there, with no doubt.

Your fan numbers seem to be gradually building.  This is also good.  Until you reach 500, and then 1000, you need to be calculating how you can raise those numbers to get you over the hump.  Once you reach 1000 fans, Facebook is a bit more kind to you - Not sure why.

Consider doing some paid contest promotions if your goal is a strong business with lots of excited fans.  Build your list first with a promo, then do a contest or promotion that allows you to sell.

APPS:

You have chosen good apps to attach to your page.  You also seem to be using them well, though the reviews tab is a bit untraditional.  The name of the tab - while creative - may not be clear to all.  Good use of Ecommerce.

Suggested: Brand your thumbnail images and use words and pics to draw your fans in.  Bring your Constant Contact tab up to the top row of apps always viewed.  Once your tabs are pretty & geography is sound, begin promoting the links to them to increase interaction/engagement.

Apps to consider - Networked Blogs (will give fans a view with many blog posts to choose from for reading & is good for FEO), Pinvolve, Involver's YouTube app when you get to video.  You could implement a

CONTENT/MESSAGE:

You are doing a good job using images on your page.  You'll want to mix some text-only posts in to your content plan.  Facebook will favor you a bit more in the news feed.  Also, those that interact as brands will see more of you when they hop to their home screen.

Start sharing from other pages when the material is of your niche: jewelry, attire, other accessories that can point back to jewelry, fashion, jewelry industry trends, women's interests.  Sharing is positive for several reasons, and nurtures relationships.  Be careful not to share too much that does not align with getting your fans into your funnel.  Align quotes & fun pictures with your business message as well.  This takes a bit of experimentation.

Roz, considering the age of your business and the age of your page, you are doing pretty well.  You're into the area of honing it to be optimal.

As promised, some additional helpful resources:
